BMW RECYCLING AND DISMANTLING

BMW GROUP: RECYCLING AND DISMANTLING BMWS SINCE 1990

Today, the conservation of natural resources makes economic and environmental sense. Back in 1990, long before the concept of eco-friendly production was widespread, this responsible thinking led to BMW’s Recycle and Dismantling Center in Landshut, Germany. Recycling has since been implemented in the U.S., where well-worn components, fluids, and metal of old BMWs find new life.

By recycling, BMW can better regulate its use of natural resources, while ensuring less environmental and economic waste. Even before production on a new vehicle begins, BMW already knows how its parts will be recycled at the end of its useful life, for use in a brand-new BMW. By using fewer materials, recyclable synthetics, and carefully separating different materials, vehicles can be efficiently built and dismantled in an environmentally friendly way.
